Haha that is awesome! Yea, the experience really exceeded my expectations. I was sure that I would have some fun, but I wasn't sure how much! I am not a fan of earwigs (pincher bugs) or spiders or mosquitos. Thankfully I didn't see one spider. Earwigs did make an appearance (one got in my tent). Someone mentioned Scorpions were in that area also. I think I would have peed myself if one ended up in my tent!
This year has been all about *doing* and experiencing new things, taking risks and not getting in my own way. I am so glad that I went! I would have been missing out on so much had I not gone. Having experienced that, I'm a lot more cmfortable with the idea of other Pagan camping adventures, such as Between The Worlds in Ohio. While I can not go this year because it is happening so soon, I plan on going next year for sure. Right now though I am focusing on paying bills and finding more steady work.
Then I can set aside money for more trips like this one. I want to attend SummerStar again and then Between The Worlds next year. One thing that I really enjoyed about SummerStar is that the people I talked to and interacted with were so friendly. I may not have been a SUPER social butterfly, but I flitted around, got a good feel for things and met some new people. It was nice to be in a space where no one was judgemental. I don't dance (around people), but I DID dance around the fire with my fellow Pagans. To feel so free as to let go and not have a care in the world... That's how I lived for 4 days. Every step that I have taken since moving to Washington State has led me here. I want to live my life that way and I will.
I did!
